Felix Cove

(click here to find Felix Cove on the map)

To reach Felix Cove from Stephenville you will take Route 460 west. You will cross the narrow isthmus at Port-au-Port called the Gravels. As you come off the Gravels take a left to follow Route 460. This will take you along the southern shore of the Port-au-Port Peninsula. Your drive around the peninsula is breathtaking and your trip to Felix Cove is a warm introduction. The large body of water on your left is St. George's Bay (Baie Saint-Georges).

The Alpacas of Newfoundland are on the south side of the road. There is a generous parking lot in front of the craft store. The alpacas are in the field to the left of the parking lot. Depending on the season you will see them fluffy, as we did, or shorn. While they look cuddly that is not their nature so pay attention.

When you enter the craft store you will be greeted by the owners and their staff. In addition to the alpacas they have interesting stories of their own. The store has a wide variety of knit goods and the work of other artisans in various mediums. Check out the stained glass pieces, they are made by Cathy, one of the owners.
