Ship Cove is on the Northern Peninsula on Route 437. You drive to Raleigh, Route 437 turns to the right and continues to Ship Cove.

As you drive into town, you'll see the miniature village on your right. It sits on top of a large rock, there's a staircase, so you can walk up beside the buildings. We visited in June and were lucky enough to be there the day Brian Decker was setting it up.

If you visit Ship's Cove in June, it's just about a lock to see icebergs. We were also there when pack ice was still in the harbour unusually late.

Continue though town and follow the road up the hill to the cemetery. There's room to park and you can follow Trena's trail to some incredible views of the Strait of Belle Isle and Labrador. You'll also be treated to a view of Cape Onion.

My road map of Newfoundland show's three towns called Ship Cove. One is on the Port-au-Port Peninsula, one on the Avalon Peninsula and this one at the northern tip of the island.
