Salvage is on the Eastport Peninsula about 11 km from the town of Eastport. From the Trans Canada, follow the signs for Eastport. The road runs through Terra Nova National Park. When you get to Eastport, follow the signs for Salvage. (left on Church St., right on Beach Rd.) You drive by the famous Eastport Beach.
The short drive to Salvage is on a beautiful winding road that bikers will appreciate. If you need gas or a snack, pick it up in Eastport. There is no gas station or convenience store in Salvage. The Ocean Breeze pub is closed and has a for sale sign on it.
We spent a week on the Eastport Peninsula and liked Salvage so much, we went back for a couple of visits. On our second trip we found the wedding arbour made of lobster traps. We continued into town and obviously there was a wedding at the church. We posted the photo on Facebook and got a message and photo from the bride!

Salvage has a large fish plant and several fishing boats. The town is full of pretty houses and classic stages. There are enough trails around town to get you busy for several days.
The two beautiful white salt box houses below are only accessible by boat or taking the cemetery trail around Dr. Pond. There is an excellent lookout on the hill just past the fish plant. From here you have amazing views of the town, harbour and off-shore islands.
