Grand Codroy RV Park is just off the TCH about 40 km from the ferry terminal in Port aux Basques. For people arriving on the ferry it's the perfect place to stay for your first night[s] on the island. Many people also stay here the night before their ferry trip home. Take the Trans Canada East from the ferry terminal to the Codroy Valley. Go past the turns for Routes 407 and 406. Take the 3rd turn-off, which is Doyles Station Road. Follow that road past the post office and hardware store, Grand Codroy is just a bit further down on your right.
Dennis and Alice run the campground, while Arlene runs Country Crafts which is located on the campground. If there is nobody in the campground office, just go into the colourful building to the right and Arlene will get you set up.

The sites are gravel and level. I just back in and un-hook. No lego blocks or boards needed for my trailer. The hook-ups are very convenient and close together. There's lots of room to put out your slides. The electrical service is 30 amp. Each site as two water faucets which is very handy.
It's a fairly large campground. They have two large washroom & shower buildings. There is a laundromat in a separate building. They also have an events building. When we were there, you could go to a lunch and entertainment for the Feather and Folk Festival which is in early June. Grand Codroy also has their own Inspirational Walking Trail at one end of the campground. It's fun, with pearls of wisdom posted on trees throughout the trail. An added bonus to this trail is that being right on the Codroy estuary it is a birders paradise.

Grand Codroy is one of the nicest RV parks that you will ever stay at. This area of Newfoundland is sometimes overlooked by vistors. There is lots to see and do in the Codroy Valley. Port aux Basques, Isles aux Morts, Burnt Islands and Rose Blanche are all within a short drive from Grand Codroy. Alice prepares a new visitor's guide every year. Ask for it at the craft store, it gives you some great ideas for day trips in the area.

You'll find everything you need right in the Codroy Valley. There are general stores, restaurants, pharmacy, bank and a hardware store all close by. You can drive into Port aux Basques where you will find a couple of large grocery stores and a Canadian Tire. I needed to replace a computer monitor and found it at The Source in Port aux Basques.
