Joe Batt's Arm is located at the North-East corner of Fogo Island. It's about a half hour drive (27 km) from the Ferry Ramp at Stag Harbour. It's a combination of three communities; Barr'd Islands, Joe Batt's Arm and Joe Batt's Arm South.
When we visited, the Fogo Island Inn was still under construction. There was quite a bit of acitivity in town. A church in Barr'd Islands had been converted to a work-shop where they were assembling furniture for the new Inn.
Drive around the bay through Joe Batt's Arm South to the end of the road at a community sports field. From here you can follow the Joe Batt's Point Trail out to the Long Studio, which is perched on the rocky shore facing the North Atlantic.
The trail is an easy walk over fairly level ground. The rocky shoreline is quite interesting. If you go past the Long Studio to the end of the trail you reach a lighthouse at Brooke Point. The total length of the trail is 2.7 km. You can find more information on Fogo Island Trails here.

In town you can stop for a gourmet lunch or dinner at Nicole's Café. There is also a framing and gift shop in a yellow wood frame building. They've got some great items and you can view some work by local artists.
