Hickey's Cove is not a place you will read about in any of the Gros Morne guides. If you are driving north on the Viking Trail, watch for the first gravel road on the left after the Broom Point Fishing Exhibit road. You'll see a hand-carved wooden sign, welcoming you to Hickey's Cove. You can drive down the road (it's a bit rough) to the shoreline. You'll find a summer fishing operation and several summer cabins along the shore. It's a great spot to take pictures.
You just keep following the road and eventually it turns back up the hill to the highway. At this point you will find that you are in Old House Rocks and you've left Hickey's Cove.

These two small summer communities are in the St. Pauls, NL enclave. St. Pauls is a larger community with a few businesses. There is a good grocery store here if you need provisions. There is a large steel bridge in St. Pauls that was built in 1962. It crosses St. Pauls Inlet and takes you north towards Cow Head. The road to all of the west coast communities to the north was not built until 1962. Prior to that all these towns were only accessible by boat.
