Arches Provincial Park

(click here to find location on the map)

The Arches is on the Gulf of St. Lawrence, just north of Parson's Pond, NL. It's a great place to stop if you are driving up the Northern Peninsula on Highway 430 (The Viking Trail). It's also close enough to Gros Morne, that you can shoot up for a quick afternoon trip.

There's lots of parking, they have a nice platform to enjoy the scenery and take photos. You can climb down right into the arches or go on top of the rocks as well.

It's tricky walking with lots of large rocks. They are the size of small melons and it is hard to maintain balance. Take your time, it is well worth it! There are washrooms off the parking lot. Another neat feature off the parking lot is the stand of silver trees. They are dead but the sun and wind have given them a polished appearance.
